Natural Gas Pipelines
Natural Gas Pipelines
As a leading gas processor in the Permian Basin, Targa continues to scale its operations to meet growing natural gas production across the Midland and Delaware basins and enhance connectivity to key markets. Our natural gas pipeline system within the Permian is complemented by several projects underway to further scale our capabilities.
Targa’s investment in intra-basin residue gas infrastructure enhances flow assurance and expands takeaway capacity from Targa’s plants, directly benefiting customers and reinforcing Targa’s competitive edge. The company remains focused on long-term reliability and system redundancy, while strengthening access to both current and future Permian egress points and in-basin demand centers.
Bull Run Pipeline
Targa recently announced an extension of its Bull Run Pipeline, a strategic expansion of its existing natural gas pipeline footprint in the Delaware Basin. The project consists of approximately 43 miles of 42-inch intrastate pipeline, with an expected in-service date in Q1 2027. This extension will support existing natural gas supply volumes and represents a meaningful addition to Targa’s commercial offerings—enhancing connectivity, increasing capacity, and reinforcing the company’s position as a leading midstream provider in the Permian.
Buffalo Run
Targa recently announced a new 35-mile natural gas pipeline that will enhance connectivity across several Targa plants in the Permian Midland and a 55-mile conversion of an existing Targa pipeline into natural gas service (together "Buffalo Run") that will connect Targa's Midland and Delaware intra-basin natural gas systems. The combination of Buffalo Run and Bull Run will enhance connectivity to multiple markets, including the Waha hub, and will add meaningful natural gas flow assurance and reliability for Targa's customers. Buffalo Run is expected to be completed in stages and fully complete in early 2028.
Forza Pipeline
Forza Pipeline designed to support increasing natural gas production in the Delaware Basin. The project will provide direct access to multiple delivery points near the Waha Hub in Texas, connecting new and existing processing facilities to major downstream pipelines. The Forza Pipeline will consist of approximately 36 miles of 36-inch pipeline from Lea County, NM, to Winkler County, TX, plus 43 miles of leased capacity on the planned 42-inch Bull Run Pipeline extension. Forza completed an open season on October 31, 2025, and will continue to market any remaining capacity to interested shippers. Forza will shortly file a Section 7(c) NGA certificate application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and is expected to begin operations in the middle of 2028, pending receipt of necessary regulatory approvals.
